As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and pure luck. The aim is to move your chips safely around the board to your inside board and at the same time your opposing player shifts their chips toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With opposing player pieces heading in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular tactics at particular instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon techniques to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to shift her pieces, the Priming Game plan is to completely stop any movement of the opponent by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s checkers will either get bumped, or end up in a damaged position if she ever tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anywhere between point two and point eleven in your board. Once you have successfully constructed the prime to stop the activity of your competitor, your opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you move your checkers and roll the dice again. You will win the game for sure.
The Back Game Tactic
The goals of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game plan are very similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions with hope to better your chances of winning, however the Back Game plan uses alternate tactics to do that. The Back Game technique is often used when you are far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this strategy, you need to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This tactic is more difficult than others to use in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the chips are relocated is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
