The aim of a Backgammon match is to move your pieces around the Backgammon board and get them off the board quicker than your opposing player who works just as hard to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Winning a game in Backgammon requires both strategy and good luck. How far you will be able to shift your checkers is up to the numbers from tossing a pair of dice, and the way you shift your pieces are determined by your overall gambling plans. Players use different techniques in the different parts of a match based on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Strategy

The goal of the Running Game tactic is to bring all your chips into your home board and bear them off as quickly as you could. This tactic focuses on the pace of shifting your chips with little or no time spent to hit or stop your competitor’s chips. The ideal time to use this strategy is when you think you can shift your own chips faster than the opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer checkers on the board; 2) all your pieces have past your opponent’s checkers; or 3) your opposing player does not use the hitting or blocking strategy.

The Blocking Game Strategy

The primary goal of the blocking technique, by its name, is to block your opponent’s pieces, temporarily, while not fretting about moving your pieces quickly. As soon as you’ve established the barrier for the opponent’s movement with a couple of pieces, you can move your other checkers swiftly from the game board. The player will need to also have an apparent plan when to back off and move the checkers that you used for blocking. The game gets intriguing when the opponent utilizes the same blocking strategy.
